The Late Mr S A Hiscock

The death occurred on May 6 of Mr Sidney A Hiscock, Glebe Farm at the age of 83. To the older generation Mr Hiscock was well known, having kept a stud of shire horses for over 40 years and won over 500 prizes. He took keen interest in agricultural shows and fairs over a wide area. In his early life Mr Hiscock was a member of the Board of Guardians, a School Manager and Trustee at Motcombe Methodist Church and he held various other offices. His home was one of hospitality to the minister and local preachers.
The funeral sevice took place at the Baptist Church on Thursday and he was laid to rest in the same grave as his wife who died some few years ago. The service was conducted by the Rev W C Gore minister assisted by the Rev J W Nind rector. Mrs Gore was at the organ.
The family mourners were: Miss Hiscock, Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Burley, Mr and Mrs Horex-Goodall son in law and daughters. Mr H Hiscock son. Mr A Hiscock brother. Mrs E Marvin, Miss Molly Jenkins grand daughters. Messrs J Hiscock, D Busby and P Jenkins grandsons. Mr J Shute brother in law, Mrs Pullen, Mrs A Braddick, Miss Betty Allard nieces, Messrs H Tucker, B Green brother in laws, Mr & Mrs Farley Drew and Mrs B Allard. Others present were Mrs James Drurey, Mrs Harrington, Mrs Gore, Miss Jay, Mrs Maidment and Mr Rutter. There were many floral tributes.
The family of the late Mr Hiscock desire to thank all friends for messages of sympathy in their bereavement and for the floral tributes sent,
