Drowned in Pit - Fate of Solihull Farm Bailiff
A farm bailiff and six heifers were drowned in a water pit at Woodhouse Farm Bickenhill Lane, Solihull yesterday. The man Victor Hiscock went out to bring the beasts home and as he did not return a search was made when his stick was found near the side of the pit. The body was recovered with great difficulty. The heifers had got into the water but it is not known whether they went in while being driven home or whether Mr Hiscock found them in, and in an effort to drive them out, went into the water himself. He was a single man living with his sister.
