The names of the exquisitors could have been read differently.
In this document it looks as if Bartley has been altered to Bartle (in both places).

Dorset towith

The Examination of Thomas Bartle now residing in the Parish of Motcombe in the said County of Dorset, Labourer taken on Oath before Us John Berkeley Barland & William Sulkeld Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Dorset the eleventh Day of December On Thousand Eight Hundred.

Who saith that he was born, as he hath heard, and believes to be true, in the Parish of Motcombe in the said County of Dorset where h is parents then resided, and that they were legally settled, as he hath also heard, and believes to be true, at the Parish of Sedghill in the County of Wilts and this Examinant saith that He has not done any act whereby to gain a Settlement since his birth to his knowledge or belief and that about six years ago he married his Present Wife Unity at Motcombe aforesaid by whom he has two children Frances aged about four years and Elizabeth aged about two years and that He is now in Posession of and Occupies a Leasehold House and Garden situated in the Parish of Motcombe aforesaid and conveyed to him by his by his Uncle Thomas Barter.
