Work Experience I have gained a wide all round experience in joinery, carpentry, shopfitting and furnishing, entailing executive abd managerial responsibilities.
My civil service career saw me in posts in Bristol, Cheltenham and lastly London where I led a small team responsible for new furniture and furnishings in all Crown and County Courts in the G.L.C. area. This meant liasing on an almost daily basis with the Courts administrative staff and meetings with with senior judges to agree programmes of furnishings,
At the time I left London to live in Gloucester I was responsible for an annual budget of one million pounds for the purchase of all furniture and furnishings for a major new Crown Building then being built.
Good Friday 11th April 1941, the home of Bill and Daisy in Bedminster was bombed in the "Good Friday Bombing". Ken had ordered a piano to be delivered, but the family were re-housed to Southmead and he never got his piano
